EWSC Cool Information

EWSC MOVES TO MANITOWOC EXPO: Manitowoc County has awarded Eastern Wisconsin Stock Car, Inc. (EWSC) a three-year contract to promote racing at the Manitowoc Expo grounds. The EWSC board is excited about the new opportunity and looking forward to working with such a fine and respectable organization as the Manitowoc County Expo.

Eastern Wisconsin Stock Car was created in 1960 as the sanctioning body for racing events. Through the years, with dedicated efforts of it's members, the interest in the racing with Eastern Wisconsin Stock Car has grown to the point where over 120 cars compete weekly in the five racing divisions, along with a solid following of race fans.

Our Exciting Race program features five exciting divisions of racing action. Headlining the program each week is the Winged Super Modified division. Over the years these cars developed from the old coupes and jalopies of the sixties and the modifieds of the seventies into the Winged Super Mods we see today. These cars generate nearly 800 horsepower, and can negotiate any third mile clay oval in just over 13 seconds. The self-starting machines provide wing-to-wing action without the delays associated with other open-wheeled classes.

Also a feature of Eastern Wisconsin Stock Car is the Limited Late Model division. These cars provide high speed action. Built from the ground up as racing machines, the Limited Lates are the fastest of the fendered cars taking to the third-mile clay oval.

Not to be outdone, is the Super Stock division. For years this was the entry level class. These race cars are based off a stock production chassis, with modifications allowed for performance and safety. This division is known for it's fender rubbing wheel to wheel action and has developed into a crowd favorite.

New for 2005 is the addition of the new Eastern Eights. This is an entry level division based off stock production cars with only modifications allowed for safety. Rounding out our five classes are the All-American Mighty 4's. After its debut in 2002, the exciting Mighty 4's took off. The
compact four cylinder machines are basically stock street cars, with the only modifications allowed being in the interest of safety. These two divisions make it possible to join the EWSC racing program with an investment of less than $1,000. It's a sure way to have a blast racing, without breaking your entertainment budget.
